More members using SATRA online resources

The online SATRA resource centre is proving to be a valuable supply of timely information for members around the world.

SATRA is rapidly building an online library of published technical articles, recorded webinars and short video presentations on a variety of key footwear-related issues, access to which is reserved for member companies.

By visiting www.satra.com/resources, SATRA members can search for and read SATRA Bulletin articles covering a comprehensive archive of technical information. In addition, video-based discussions on a number of topics can be viewed. These include fast-moving and informative presentations with such titles as ‘Sustainable design’, ‘Controlling chemicals in the value chain’, ‘Towards 100 per cent circular footwear production’, ‘Footwear fit and comfort’, ‘Water resistance of footwear’, and ‘Selling children’s footwear into Europe’.

This new online provision ensures that all members who were unable to watch the live online webinars and workshops can still benefit from the expertise of SATRA staff members and other industry figures.

SATRA intends to continue with an ongoing programme of live webinars to supplement the on-site training events that will resume once travel restrictions are eased and it is responsible to do so. These webinars are proving increasingly popular with members around the world, being presented at 10:00 BST and often repeated at 16:00 for members in North and South America. Hundreds of online attendees have taken advantage of this new provision, all of whom have the opportunity to pose questions during the presentations and hear a live response at the conclusion of the session.

The webinars scheduled for June include the following:

• ‘Sustainability workshop on durability’ (9th June)
• ‘Sole bonding adhesives in footwear’ (11th June)
• ‘Footwear constructions – advantages and disadvantages’ (18th June).
