In early October, Messe München – organiser of ISPO, which is promoted as being ‘the world’s largest international multi-segment exhibition for the sports industry’ – announced that the show would be a ‘hybrid’ event, with some visitors attending in person and others viewing new collections and materials online. Now, however, Messe München has advised that the five-day event commencing on February 1st is to be online only.
According to this new information, the coronavirus pandemic has made the safe execution of a hybrid event impossible. Chief executive Klaus Dittrich said that moving to a completely digital event was a logical step, and that the content would include what he called ‘digital industry discussions of the highest calibre’.
