Innocuousness of safety footwear
Notified Body requirements for the type-approval of safety footwear include evidence that harmful substances are not present in the components or materials.
EN ISO 20345:2011 – ‘Personal protective equipment – safety footwear’ specifies basic and optional requirements for general-purpose safety footwear. These requirements include performance classifications for protection against mechanical risks such as slip resistance, abrasion resistance and toe impact. In addition, there are also some chemical parameters that safety footwear must satisfy.
