Stride Rite partners active life scheme
The Healthy Kids Running Series is organised for children of 2 to 14 years of age around the USA.
Children’s footwear specialist Stride Rite has announced a partnership with the ‘Healthy Kids Running Series’ – a US-based national ‘inclusive and fun youth running experience’ designed to inspire young children to believe in themselves and lead an active healthy lifestyle.
The new collaboration will include the production of online health, nutrition and fitness programming for young boys and girls in the ‘I am a Healthy Kid’ programme guide. In addition, the scheme will help to ensure that participants are wearing properly-fitted shoes while they are running at events that are to be held around the country.
The Healthy Kids Running Series is a five-week programme that is organised twice each year in the spring and autumn, with age-appropriate race distances selected for children of 2 to 14 years of age. The events are said to involve more than 60,000 young runners across the USA, who can compete each week either in-person or virtually on a course of their choosing. As part of this agreement, Stride Rite aims to take its contactless ‘Fit Zone’ to selected Healthy Kids Running Series events. With this equipment, the company says that an on-the-spot three-dimensional model can be produced of any child’s foot, from which staff members can make sure that all the runners are provided with the correct size shoe – all while maintaining the all-important safe social distance.
