Ageing leather to assess chromium VI formation

Explaining the importance of evaluating aged leather for this hazardous substance.

Although the likelihood of chromium VI formation is low if good industry practice is followed during the leathermaking process, commercial leather specifications can sometimes request testing for chromium VI both before and after an ageing process.
