Petcher laboratory gains accredited status

Visiting a China-based footwear producer which has the principle of quality evaluation firmly at the heart of its operation.

Guangdong Petcher Footwear Ltd recently received SATRA Laboratory Accreditation – a stamp of quality that is recognised throughout the global footwear and leathergoods industries. The scheme provides reassurance to parties doing business together that the most rigorous material testing standards have been adhered to at all times.

Petcher Footwear was founded in 2004 and specialises in the manufacture of safety footwear and outdoor water-resistant shoes. A number of construction methods are used on its production lines, including direct moulding, Goodyear welting, injection welting and the dual-density rubber system.

Petcher is located in Enping, Guangdong Province, and has a current production capacity exceeding 3.8 million pairs of shoes per year. All its footwear is said to be fully tested under GB, CE, ASTM, CSA, AS/NZS and KOSHA standard systems.

The Petcher Labtest facility recently achieved SATRA accreditation

Along with a QA/QC system and its onsite laboratory testing service, the company – which is a SATRA Gold Member – has a declared focus on technical innovation while guaranteeing the best quality of product. Petcher states that it was one of the first companies to gain BSCI, Sedex, ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 certification to comply with customer audits.

To become a SATRA Accredited Laboratory, the Petcher Labtest facility had to undergo a demanding assessment process. SATRA auditors visited the facility several times to confirm that the overall working environment, as well as the testing equipment, its quality management system and its technicians all met the required exacting standards.

Petcher believes that consumers make purchases based on a product’s quality and performance. In line with this, accreditation and certification from SATRA as a recognised industry body play a vital role in promoting an item’s quality and ultimately raise the value of the brand in the eyes of customers. In addition, with the SATRA Accredited Laboratory status in place, Petcher aims to continuously improve the quality of its products and intends to achieve growing recognition from international customers.
