Updated footwear RSL now available
The September 2021 issue of SATRA’s footwear RSL is now available for download. SATRA Restricted Substances Lists (RSLs) contain information about restricted substances that are applicable to the materials typically used in footwear, furniture and consumer products. SATRA updates these documents every six months to include the latest restricted substances legislation, such as amendments to REACH (Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006) Annex XVII, UK REACH and the POP Regulation (EU) 2019/1021.
SATRA’s RSLs also include test method references for use when testing to assess conformity with the legislation. Since the March 2021 editions, there have been revised test methods for formaldehyde (EN ISO 17226-1:2021), short chained chlorinated paraffins (EN ISO 18219-1:2021) and dimethyl fumarate (EN ISO 16181:2021). Also, the European restrictions for PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid and its salts) have transferred to the Persistent Organic Pollutants Regulation from REACH Annex XVII, although the requirements remained unchanged.
