California-based Skechers has drafted in a NASCAR Hall of Fame former racing driver to head a multi-platform marketing promotion of the company’s footwear for men. Russell ‘Rusty’ Wallace Jr will join the group of athletes and sports stars who have acted as the face of Skechers’ lifestyle and performance collections in recent years.
“We’re working on a fun campaign to show the fans why I love these shoes so much, and I can’t wait for everyone to see it,” said Mr Wallace.
“Skechers has turned to sports icons to drive awareness for our men’s products for many years, and Rusty Wallace, with his energetic personality and Hall of Fame career, will be a perfect addition to our roster,” commented company president Michael Greenberg. “Stock car racing has a massive fanbase in the United States and Rusty continues to be an ambassador of the sport. We expect this commercial will reach an important demographic and help generate buzz for our styles featuring Goodyear performance outsoles.”
Skechers’ products for men and women includes styles for hiking and running, as well as boots, rugged sandals, safety footwear and sneakers.
