Nike brings FlyEase solutions to kids’ footwear
The Dynamo Go shoe has been designed for children with or without disabilities to easily put on, hands-free.
Nike’s new ‘Dynamo Go’ and ‘Play Pack’ collections have been created to support a child’s spontaneous play. Both the shoe and apparel line are made with the same ‘FlyEase’ technology that was developed using insights from the disability community, and are said to include child-inspired features that guarantee the ability to play whenever the wearer wants to.
According to Nike, “make getting shoes on easier and faster” was the number one thing Kevin Dodson, global vice president for kids’ footwear product, heard from the hundreds of young Nike shoe testers, as well as their parents and caregivers. In addition to autonomy, the demand was for a lightweight shoe with a great fit and a grippy sole that could handle any kind of movement.
Mr Dodson reported that his three-year-old daughter exhibited an emotion described as ‘pure joy and pride’ when he recently took home Dynamo Go footwear for her to try. “I told her the shoes were just for her to try, and she stepped into them herself and took off ripping around the house. She told me they were ‘super cool’ and ‘beautiful’. When I asked for them back, she gave me a firm ‘no.’ It took two pieces of chocolate, one for each shoe, to wrestle them away.”
