Natural rubber soles in various forms
Natural rubber for soles is available in several very different forms and from more than one source, as this article describes.
One aspect of sole materials which is likely to attract ever-increasing interest in the marketplace is ‘sustainability’. There are many facets to this including, but not limited to, carbon footprint, recyclability, durability, repairability, emissions and pollution, and the origin of the raw material. Natural rubber is perhaps one of the most obvious sole materials which can be derived from plant material – and is not capable of any other origin.
