Special edition APLF planned for Bangkok
A second Dubai edition has also been announced following a successful event earlier this year.
The organisers of Hong Kong-based Asia Pacific Leather Fair (APLF) have announced that a special edition of APLF ASEAN will be held on 19th to 21st October 2022 at the new Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre (QSNCC) in Bangkok, Thailand. This event has been designed to allow for strong Asian involvement, and is said to have been planned to ensure that businesses can re-establish links with buyers who are located in the region.
In addition, after a successful first edition of the Dubai show in March and April of this year, the next regular edition of the APLF trade fair will be held in the same UAE location in early 2023. According to the organisers, this decision has been made to provide certainty with regard to the next event, so that companies can start planning ahead.
Since 2019, when APLF was last held in Hong Kong, face-to-face access to buyers from China and south east Asia has been limited due to travel and quarantine restrictions affecting international travellers. “Now, however, the ten-nation ASEAN bloc has re-opened for business and, with Bangkok at its commercial hub, the city will be the restart point to welcome back Asia-Pacific buyers,” commented an APLF organisers’ representative.
APLF ASEAN will combine the ‘Leather’, ‘Materials+’ and ‘Fashion Access’ shows, at which more than 300 exhibitors from around the world are expected to gather in around 11,500 square metres of QSNCC halls 1 and 2.
