The ongoing programme of live webinars presented by SATRA experts on a variety of key topics is proving very popular with members around the world. Hundreds of online attendees have taken advantage of this provision, all of whom have the opportunity to pose questions during the presentations and either hear a live response at the conclusion of the session or receive personalised emailed advice – a particularly valuable service whenever confidential information about the member’s products is being discussed.
The following webinars will be presented at 10:00 BST and repeated at 16:00 BST for delegates who are located in North and South America.
Thursday 6th October 2022 – ‘Common failures in safety footwear’. In order to effectively and consistently give the necessary level of protection, safety footwear must be carefully designed and manufactured. This webinar – open to SATRA members and non-members – will explain how making a thorough consideration of both the design and materials to be used during the product’s development stage can save time and money when it comes to testing and certification.
Thursday 13th October 2022 – ‘Fashion heels and backpart construction’. This members-only webinar will explain how high heels must both perform as components and also be combined securely to the backpart of the shoe if problems of heel breakage and detachment are to be avoided. The event will review heel design, principles of good attachment and the test methods employed in exercising due diligence for fitness for purpose and product safety.
Thursday 20th October 2022 – ‘Sustainability workshop on organisational carbon footprint’. SATRA sustainability manager Nicola Pichel-Juan will discuss why it is important for organisations to understand their carbon emissions and how the emissions can be quantified – while sharing SATRA’s journey in calculating our own organisational carbon footprint.
In addition to the regular live events, SATRA has built an online library of recordings of the webinars as well as supplementary video presentations on a number of key footwear-related issues, access to which is reserved for member companies. This online provision ensures that all members who were unable to watch the live online events can still benefit from the experience of SATRA’s experts and other industry figures by logging onto the dedicated website section whenever they choose.
