Causes of discolouration in footwear
Products that discolour can lead to retailers rejecting stock and customers returning their purchases.
Once materials have become discoloured, they either cannot be repaired or, if a repair is possible, they often require a labour-intensive and expensive process. This usually makes the repair uneconomical, thereafter resulting in affected stock being either rejected or downgraded. Identifying what has caused discolouration on footwear and leather is an important step to try and prevent the same problems in the future.
