Registrations being taken for SATRA webinars

Details have been published about the latest additions to SATRA’s live online presentations on footwear-related topics.

The ongoing programme of webinars presented by SATRA experts on a variety of key topics is proving very popular with members around the world. Hundreds of online attendees have taken advantage of this provision, all of whom have the opportunity to pose questions before the event, during the presentation or afterwards. Answers can then be provided either as a live response at the conclusion of the session (when it is presented live) or as personalised emailed advice, which is a particularly valuable service whenever confidential information about the member’s products needs to be discussed.

Thursday 15th June 2023 – ‘Testing box toes and stiffeners’. ‘Box toes’ – often called ‘toe puffs’ – are components designed to help retain the shape of the front part of footwear. ‘Counters’, also referred to as ‘stiffeners’, are used for the same purpose in the backpart. This SATRA members-only presentation will describe the process for assessing the properties of these components and determining whether they will be suitable for use in different footwear styles. The webinar will begin at 10:00 BST and will be repeated at 16:00 for delegates located in North and South America.

Thursday 29th June 2023 – ‘Arsutoria trend forecasting AW/24/25’. We are pleased to announce the next edition of our popular Arsutoria trend forecasting seminar, reserved for SATRA members. This is a continuation of our long-standing partnership with Milan-based footwear and leathergoods consultant Arsutoria to bring industry forecasting straight from the Italian ‘fashion capital’. Style development expert Orietta Pelizzari will share her insights into future trends and technical innovations in materials for the Autumn/Winter/24/25 season. This free event will be in hybrid form, so delegates can either join us ‘in person’ at our Kettering head office or via our live streaming webinar. The programme will commence at 10:30 BST and is scheduled to conclude at 13:00.

Online library of video presentations

In addition to the regular live events, SATRA has built an online library of recordings of the webinars as well as supplementary video presentations on many key footwear-related issues, access to which is reserved for member companies. This online provision ensures that all members who were unable to watch the live online events can still benefit from the experience of SATRA’s experts and other industry figures by logging onto the dedicated website section at www.satra.com/resources whenever they choose.
