British footwear retailer Clarks is expanding its presence in Saudi Arabia with plans to open at least 20 stores over the next five years. This strategy will involve a partnership with Apparel Group, a Dubai-based fashion and lifestyle conglomerate which is said to be diversifying its own portfolio strategy to enhance shopping for customers in this Middle-Eastern Kingdom.
Clark’s new Saudi Arabia stores will reportedly feature a wide range of the company’s products, including its ‘Originals’ collection and a selection of comfort footwear styles. The expansion will help Clarks to cater to the growing demand for high-quality footwear in Saudi Arabia, which has been attributed to the country’s high spending power.
According to Neeraj Teckchandani, chief executive of Apparel Group, this strategic partnership with Clarks signifies a ‘monumental step’ in his company’s journey towards offering an unparalleled retail experience in Saudi Arabia. Apparel Group currently works with brand owners from Australia, Asia, Canada, Europe and the US, and also has a presence in a number of other countries, including Egypt, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, South Africa and Thailand. In addition, the company is said to have strategies in place to tap into a number of emerging markets, such as Hungary and the Philippines.
