Coats launches new footwear division
Coats Footwear says it is ready to drive forward a new wave of technologies.
Industrial thread manufacturer Coats Group has created a new footwear division following its acquisition of Texon and Rhenoflex. After a period of integration, the Group has launched ‘Coats Footwear’ to offer footwear and accessories producers around the world a range of components and material solutions, as well as its expertise and technical know-how.
As independent companies, Coats, Texon and Rhenoflex were already well-established in the development of performance materials for footwear and accessories applications. Now with a combined global footprint and more than 450 different products in its range, Coats Footwear says it is ready to capitalise on these teams’ collective capabilities and drive forward a new wave of technologies to improve the design, performance, comfort and environmental credentials of all kinds of footwear and consumer lifestyle accessories.
According to a Coats representative, the footwear division has staff and operations spanning 50-plus countries and is part of a business which has a global workforce of over 17,000 employees and a customer base of more than 34,000 companies.
