Chinese city to host leather congress
The 37th IULTCS congress will be held in Chengdu.
The four-day Congress of the International Union of Leather Technologists and Chemists Societies (IULTCS) will convene in the city of Chengdu, China on October 17th. This is the second IULTCS Congress to be held in China, following an event in Beijing in 2009. This 37th edition is also the first in-person IULTCS International Congress to be organised since the lifting of the Chinese COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. Co-organised with the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA), the event will be held at the College of Biomass Science and Engineering located within Sichuan University.
Chengdu was selected as the host city due to its status as a high-tech industrial and logistics cluster and its close links with the leather industry. It also has a comprehensive transportation hub with direct flights to and from Addis Ababa, Bangkok, Cairo, Doha, Dubai, Frankfurt, Istanbul, London, Melbourne, Moscow, Rome, Seoul, Singapore, Tokyo and other key international cities.
