Columbia reports global H1 figures
US-based sportswear, outdoor clothing and footwear specialist Columbia Sportswear has logged overall revenue of more than USD 1.4 billion (GBP 1.1 billion) for January to June 2023. This represents a year-on-year growth of 7.6 per cent. During this six-month period, the company achieved revenue in the United States of USD 916.6 million (GBP 717.8 million), almost USD 230 million (GBP 180 million) in the Latin America and Asia market (which are reported together), approximately USD 210 million (GBP 164 million) in Europe and USD 86.1 million (GBP 67.4 million) in Canada.
By sector, revenue from footwear totalled USD 320 million (GBP 251 million) – a boost of 5 per cent – while figures for a combination of accessories, apparel and equipment increased by 8 per cent compared to the first half of 2022, bringing in a total of more than USD 1.1 billion (GBP 862 million).
Chief executive Tim Boyle has stressed his confidence in Columbia Sportswear’s strategies, with focus being placed on achieving significant long-term growth from what he sees as the opportunities across the business.
