Using coated leathers in footwear production

Coated leathers continue to be popular in a range of footwear styles where the durability and ‘easy care’ properties of the coating can be exploited. However, there are many variations in terms of plastic type, leather type and the relative thickness of each layer. These can significantly change the nature of the material, and also affect the legal descriptions of the product.
