SATRA publishes 2024 Sustainability Special

The new magazine provides key information on sustainability topics.

The first edition of SATRA’s Sustainability Special publication – released in early 2023 to provide members with key information on sustainability topics relevant to the footwear and leather industries – was a noteworthy success. Therefore, a second issue written by SATRA experts and industry guest authors has been produced to present the very latest information on this vital and ever-changing business subject. Once again, this publication will only be available to SATRA members.

Many companies are on sustainability journeys, involving both their products and their business methods. At SATRA, we understand the importance of such a broad topic being understood throughout an organisation, to ensure that correct decisions can be made on validation processes and appropriate claims.

To help SATRA members gain access to such valuable knowledge, this special publication provides key information on sustainability topics relevant to the industry, all in one place.

Articles within this new edition of SATRA Bulletin Sustainability Special include ‘Sustainability is an issue that cannot be ignored’, ‘Organisational carbon footprint’. ‘Microplastics in footwear and clothing’, and ‘Meeting the challenge of increasing legislation’. In-depth considerations are also featured on the environmental impact during a product’s life caused by design and development, material selection and sourcing, production, distribution and sale, use, and end-of-life.

All SATRA members who regularly receive access to the digital version of the monthly SATRA Bulletin magazine will automatically be emailed a link to the 2024 Sustainability Special. A limited number of printed copies will also be made available on request.
