Assessing resistance to hydrolysis in PU soles

One of the most important tests for polyurethane sole material is to determine its potential shelf life while it remains in good condition.

There is one acknowledged weakness of PU which may cause it to fail in the long term, relative to the date of moulding. This is a chemical vulnerability to gradual attack and degradation from water.
