New Balance opens Utah distribution centre

Global sporting goods producer New Balance recently celebrated the opening of a new US distribution centre in Salt Lake City, Utah. According to the Boston-based company, the facility marks a major milestone in the brand’s commitment to operational excellence, customer experience and community investment. The new centre will play a central role in New Balance’s North American distribution network, with the company expecting faster delivery timelines and a streamlined service for wholesale, retail and digital channels.

The technology within the 806,000 square foot facility includes robots, autonomous vehicles and six miles of conveyancing equipment. The centre will handle footwear, apparel and accessories, with a capacity to receive and ship approximately 100,000 units per day across two shifts.

“Today’s celebration and the opening of this distribution centre is a reflection of our continued growth,” said New Balance’s chief operating officer, Dave Wheeler, during the official opening. “This facility marks a critical investment to streamline our supply chain and support our growing customer base. With our new footprint in Salt Lake City, we’re better positioned to meet our customer promise every day.”
