A letter from SATRA’s chief executive

Dear SATRA member

In my first year as chief executive, I would like to thank you for your support in 2025 and welcome you to your next year of SATRA membership. As I reflect on the past few months since I took the role here at SATRA, the largest takeaway for me is the knowledge, skill, dedication and passion of our employees.

We have worked closely with a large group of members to review comfort in sports footwear

My role as the custodian of SATRA is clear, and the mission for myself and the SATRA team is to ensure that these skillsets that are evident within SATRA can reach all our members to ensure that we are adding value to your businesses. To do this, we will be stepping up our communication to spend more time truly understanding our members and how to tailor our services to add the most value.

SATRA will soon launch a new range of fitting aids

Twenty twenty-five has been a challenging year for the industry, with geopolitical activities driving changes to global supply chains and sourcing regions. We have seen an increase in requests for our technical expertise, not only in supporting members with research and development projects, but also to make certain of compliant design and manufacturing. Our production efficiency software solutions are supporting businesses to ensure the most efficient use of resources in their factories, and we will continue to develop these programs in 2026.

Our innovation team has been working on some truly exciting projects during the past year. We continue to uphold SATRA’s global reputation in slip resistance by advancing the mechanics of the SATRA slip testing machine, and playing a leading role in the adoption of the new Eurotile 3 for the EN ISO 20345:2022 standard.

In addition to these technical milestones, we have worked closely with a large group of members to review comfort in sports footwear, alongside projects investigating foot dimensions, footwear durability and enhancements to SATRA’s fitting aid technology. We look forward to welcoming new collaborative projects with our members in 2026.

We enter 2026 with a renewed energy, focused on delivering our mission and working closely with all our valued members. I look forward to working with you in the coming year.
