Lower Brazilian footwear exports in November

Foreign sales of Brazilian footwear declined during November 2025. According to the national footwear association Abicalçados, the country exported 6.92 million pairs of shoes in that month, valued at USD 65.8 million. This represented a 17.7 per cent decrease in volume and a 13.3 per cent drop in value compared to the previous November.
In November 2025, just over 497,500 pairs of shoes were shipped to the sector’s main market, the USA. These were worth USD 10.8 million, which is a year-on-year decrease in volume of 48.8 per cent and a drop of 44.6 per cent in value. Abicalçados has stated that volumes shipped to the USA fell by 23.4 per cent in the four months following the introduction of the US surcharge.
Exports to the second-largest market – Argentina – also declined. In November, this neighbouring country purchased 551,750 pairs of Brazilian shoes worth USD 5.6 million. Year-on-year, this was a 56.7 per cent decrease in volume and 63.8 per cent lower in value.
