Micam and Mipel shows changing for 2026

Organisers hope to make the fairs more relevant to the international markets.

Organisers of the Micam footwear exhibition and the Mipel leather goods fair are collaborating strategically on the first events of 2026. The aim of the joint venture is to strengthen the synergy between the shows, which will both run from February 22nd to 24th in the Italian city of Milan. It is also hoped to increase the relevance of these fairs to the international markets, in addition to enhancing the experience of both visitors and exhibitors.

The redesign of the events has been entrusted to the Milan-based Lombardini22 company. For the February edition, Mipel will move to the front of Pavilion 5 at the Rho Fiera Milano complex, with the reported intention of boosting centrality, efficiency and visibility.

“It’s a strategic project that aims to put the excellence of our supply chains at the centre and offer visitors and exhibitors an evolved and increasingly engaging experience,” commented Claudia Sequi, president of Mipel and the national leather goods trade association Assopellettieri.

“The new configuration of the spaces is not just a functional choice, but a sign of contemporaneity – a look towards the future, capable of interpreting with clarity the needs of exhibitors and buyers,” commented Giovanna Ceolini, president of Micam and the Italian Association of Footwear Manufacturers, Assocalzaturifici.

A new space called ‘M&M – The Hub’ will be located at the heart of Pavilion 5 to host initiatives and projects representing both shows. It will also be home to the ‘Micam Academy’ and the ‘Mipel Factory’ for discussions, networking and training.
