Portuguese companies target foreign markets

APICCAPS president Luís Onofre says these initiatives are ‘a decisive step’.

Producers in the Portuguese footwear components sector are reportedly aiming to strengthen their international presence by participating in commercial and promotional initiatives in such key markets as France, Italy, Spain, the UK and the USA.

These actions are supported by the Portuguese Footwear, Components, Leather Goods Manufacturers Association (APICCAPS) in order to enhance the value and internationalise its footwear supply chain. These initiatives include participation in trade fairs and prioritising direct contact with international buyers and brands. According to APICCAPS president Luís Onofre, these initiatives are ‘a decisive step in strengthening the international visibility of the components sector’.
