SATRA announces next open day
Following a successful footwear open day in March, a similar opportunity to gain inside access to SATRA’s UK laboratories in Kettering will be held on 24th June.

Opening the doors of SATRA’s world-renowned testing and research facilities will provide delegates with an exclusive behind-the-scenes opportunity to explore the facilities, technology and expertise that shape global footwear standards.
On Wednesday 24th June 2026, visitors will explore a number of key themes, including outsole bond strength, slip resistance, whole shoe testing, heel attachment, colour and light fastness, water resistance and the successful attachment of trims and fasteners.
This special event has been designed for personnel at manufacturing and sourcing companies, as well as at retailers of all types of footwear and materials. It is open to SATRA members and non-members.
What to expect
The day is intended to provide delegates with information about the importance of testing footwear, the legislation behind such evaluations, and the key properties that are assessed. A buffet lunch will be included, and delegates will have the opportunity to meet SATRA’s footwear experts and familiarise themselves with our facilities and procedures.
The event will include presentations on a variety of key topics and a tour of our laboratories. SATRA members will be invited to stay for private discussions with one of our experts about specific footwear issues.
As with the footwear open day held earlier in the year, places are limited. Tickets are available at GBP 20 for SATRA members and GBP 30 for non-members (both rates plus VAT where applicable). Please visit the ‘upcoming events’ section on the www.satra.com homepage to reserve your place(s).
An additional open day is scheduled for 25th November. More information on this and other events is available on SATRA’s website.
