Chinese REACH seminars
In addition to the roadshows in Dongguan and Zhuhai, SATRA’s John Hubbard presented two special seminars on the European REACH legislation. During the half-day events attended by over 40 delegates, John outlined the background to the legislation and the development of requirements for substances in articles. He also reviewed how restricted substances lists can be used to manage these requirements through the whole supply chain, and summarised testing protocols which may assist in managing the process and get the best deal from testing budgets.
One of the key updates explained was the introduction of sunset dates for six chemicals. These include three phthalate plasticisers used in PVC uppers and soles, which are being banned from use in goods imported into the EU from 2015.
How can we help?
