F1 champions wear Geox shoes
Italian footwear producer brand Geox is playing its part in another impressive season for the Formula One Red Bull Racing team. A technical partner of the 2010 World Champions, Geox supplies drivers Sebastian Vettel (currently leading the 2011 table) and Mark Webber with shoes worn when racing. The rest of the team also wear them while providing support services.
Geox claims to be the only Italian company making breathable footwear, and has patented its ‘Net Breathing System’ technology. The sole is said to incorporate a special membrane to both eliminate humidity and prevent it from entering the shoe – certainly a benefit for F1 drivers, who reportedly sweat away several litres of water in the course of one Grand Prix race.
