Joint SATRA/FDDI Business Support Day

Dr Kausik Ghosh of India’s Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) recently visited SATRA’s Technology Centre to investigate opportunities for both organisations to work together to hold a number of future events that will be of benefit to SATRA Members. As a result of these discussions, SATRA is pleased to announce that the first event will be a jointly hosted Business Support Day which will be held in November 2011 at the FDDI’s headquarters in Chennai.

At the event, companies can learn about the extensive range of services offered by both SATRA and the FDDI, and there will be presentations on the topics of leather and its use in products, production efficiency systems to improve manufacturing, testing and certification of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and an overview of SATRA’s industry research programme. There will also be the opportunity to have a tour of FDDI’s laboratory.

SATRA’s Michael Goode and Christine Ohren-Bird will be joining Dr Ghosh to make the presentations during the day. Christine and Michael will also be holding similar events in Kanpur and Kolkata during their time in India (dates and venues to be confirmed).
