Successful China exhibition for SATRA
The SATRA stand at this year’s Guangzhou Shoes & Leather Exhibition proved to be very popular from the outset, with great interest shown in the many services on offer to footwear and leather companies. Visitors were keen to learn about SATRA and how membership can benefit their business by improving the quality of their products and increasing the efficiency of their manufacturing processes. Of particular interest were the factory efficiency systems of SATRASumm (for leather usage control), SATRA VisionStitch (for stitching control) and SATRAData (for production line optimisation). Information concerning SATRA’s laboratory consultancy services, including accreditation was also in demand.
SATRA was pleased to welcome staff from Team Testing Equipment (TTE) on its exhibition stand as partners to promote SATRA test equipment. As authorised distributors for SATRA-built laboratory testing equipment in China, TTE not only sells SATRA test machines, but also provides a full after-sales service covering maintenance and repair.
To complement the exhibition, the Guangzhou fair supported a popular programme of technical seminar programme and, as in previous years, SATRA was invited to present one of these sessions. Our chosen topic for 2011 was ‘US chemical legislation’, which was presented by SATRA’s American Business Manager, James Corton, who was visiting China for the first time especially to address this seminar. James was the ideal presenter, as he is in direct contact with SATRA’s members in the USA. The seminar was well attended and many delegates requested copies of the presentation.
A considerable number of SATRA members attended the exhibition, either as visitors or to showcase their company’s products, and many of them visited the SATRA stand to learn about the latest developments in our research, training, consultancy and testing services. It was also noticeable that a number of companies exhibiting at the fair were proudly showing ‘Member of SATRA’ posters on their stands, which reaffirms the value of the SATRA brand in the footwear industry throughout the world.
