Leather products and processes on display in Paris
Le Cuir à Paris is one of the biggest events in the leather industry’s calendar
Le Cuir à Paris is a twice-annual leather fair held at the Paris Nord Villepinte. The latest products and processes will be on show in the February edition, which will reveal trends for summer 2013. As this is one of the biggest events in the leather industry’s calendar, visitors regularly attend Le Cuir à Paris from a wide range of sectors, including footwear, leathergoods, garments, fashion accessories, furnishings and automotive supplies.
Over 12,000 delegates attended the event in September 2011, from a variety of global destinations. Of these visitors, 51 per cent were designers and buyers, with the other delegates representing a number of related professions, such as studio managers, product managers, vendors, wholesalers and importers.
A dedicated area within the show is called ‘Villages des Créateurs’ – a zone that provides new talent with the chance to showcase their leather and fur designs. As well as the exhibition itself, there are a number of conferences being held over the three-day period. Topics at the September show included the history of leather and information on the vegetable, organic and mineral process of tanning.
