SATRA announces 2012 SAFE course dates
SATRA is planning to run a two-day SATRA Accredited Footwear Engineer (SAFE) course in its Kettering, UK headquarters on three occasions during 2012: 8-9 February, 6-7 June and 3-4 October.
The course has been developed for managers and technicians in member companies who are responsible for overseeing or coordinating activities associated with product design and manufacturing in a supply chain environment. Particular emphasis is placed on the principles of product engineering, efficient manufacture, cost reduction, the analysis of value-added/non-value-added operations, grading techniques, line balancing and the use of key performance indicators (KPIs).
The course consists of a mix of tutorials, discussions and practical exercises that will help delegates better understand design and manufacturing principles within the context of a complex supply chain.
For delegates who would like to be recognised as ‘SATRA Accredited Footwear Engineers’, a follow-on project is required (with the subject area to be agreed with SATRA). This will be supervised by SATRA, after which – if it is successfully completed – a SAFE accreditation certificate will be awarded.
How can we help?
Please visit www.satra.co.uk/events for details of the 2012 courses, including fees. The fee associated with the follow-on project is additional and will depend on the subject and location.
