Hotter shoes to ‘fly the flag’
Hotter Comfort Concept Shoes has been selected to showcase the best of British manufacturing.
Hotter Comfort Concept Shoes has been chosen to represent the North West of England in a national scheme to highlight the best of British manufacturing. All 650 British Members of Parliament (MPs) are nominating a product manufactured in their constituency. The footwear designed and made in Hotter Shoes’ Lancashire factory has been recommended by Rosie Cooper MP for the national ‘Made By Britain’ collection, as an excellent representative of manufacturing in her region.
Hotter Shoes Managing Director, Peter Taylor commented: “We are honoured that Rosie Cooper MP has nominated us, and are proud that one in every three pairs of shoes made in the UK are made in our factory. Many footwear brands have taken their manufacturing abroad, but we are proud to have retained our British heritage and the flexibility and control to manufacture world class products in a highly competitive market.”
At the launch of the scheme in 2011, UK Secretary of State, Vince Cable said: “British industry remains among the very best for the quality and originality of what it makes. We export our goods to every corner of the world, from famous international brands to products which, while less well known, make a real difference to the lives of millions. With the Olympics bringing so much attention to Britain, this is a fantastic opportunity to show the rest of the world that we make world-beating products.”
