Guangzhou shoe fair regains its popularity

Many members and non-members visited SATRA’s stand.

After a disappointingly quiet exhibition in 2011, Guangzhou’s 22nd International Exhibition Shoe & Leather show (held this year between 30th May and 1st June) was seen by many as a huge success. Nearly 8,000 visitors arrived on the first day alone, and the general consensus among both exhibitors and visitors was that this fair is still considered to be one of the most important events in the Chinese footwear calendar.

SATRA was invited to deliver a technical seminar on fitness-for-purpose testing of leather, which was very well attended and received. The SATRA exhibition stand also received a very large number of visitors. The event was a great opportunity for SATRA representatives to once again meet its valued members. The unusually high number of non-member visitors who enquired about technical services also demonstrated the continuing increase in demand for technical footwear support.
