Saina Group develops test laboratory
China-based Saina Group Co Ltd manufactures safety footwear in Ruian City, Zhejiang Province. The company currently employs more than 1,200 members of staff who use German-made Desma injection-moulding machinery on 18 assembly lines. ISO 9001 quality system certification was gained in 2003, enabling Saina to actively market its products as benefitting from a high level of quality control – from design to material purchasing – as well as in manufacture, inspection, production delivery and after-sales service.
The company produces a variety of safety shoes which use PU, TPU and rubber solings – components which it says have been tested to EN ISO 20345. The installation of relevant test equipment in Saina’s own laboratory – reported to have been audited and approved to ISO 17025 – allows for in-house safety shoe assessment. As a result, Saina can test for impact, penetration and compression resistance, in addition to testing products for anti-static characteristics, bond strength and tensile strength.
