BASF appoints global head of leather chemicals
Alex Wartini has held several key positions since his BASF career began in 1999.
International chemical company BASF has announced the appointment of Alex Wartini as Vice President, Global Business Management – Leather Chemicals. He succeeds Thomas Sattler, who has moved on to a new position within the company.
Mr Wartini began his career at BASF when he joined in 1999 as a Research Manager for BASF Chemicals Research & Engineering in Ludwigshafen, Germany. He then went on to serve in several key management positions within a number of divisions, including BASF Pharma Contract Manufacturing, BASF Venture Capital and BASF Future Business. Between 2008 and 2010, Mr Wartini was based in the company’s Singapore office, where he worked on various strategy and global projects for the leather and textile chemicals business. Immediately before taking up this new role, he was Senior Process Manager for BASF’s Performance Chemicals division.
