SATRA extends foot survey in China
SATRA collected anthropometric data as part of the organisation’s foot survey at Kangnai.
Three technical staff members from SATRA’s UK-based research team recently travelled to Wenzhou in Zhejiang Province, China, as part of the organisation’s ongoing global foot sizing survey. SATRA’s Head of Research, Tom Bayes, led the team in this project, which involved scanning the feet of 558 Kangnai employees. The footwear company provided invaluable assistance with the SATRA survey, which included taking three-dimensional foot scans, as well as noting the subjects’ upper leg girth measurements and additional demographic information.
Mr Bayes commented: “We very much appreciate the help and hospitality of our friends at Kangnai in this important project. The resulting data will be analysed by our fitting consultants to expand SATRA’s knowledge of foot shape, and to broaden the scope of our fitting guidelines on a global scale.”
