Teh Chang Leather gains SATRA accreditation
A long-time SATRA member, Taiwanese-owned Teh Chang Leather and its subsidiary Joinland have both gained SATRA re-accreditation for their leather grading and laboratories. Teh Chang Leather’s management believes that this recognition will enhance the harmony between the tannery and shoe factories and improve product quality, as well as enhancing the company image.
With facilities in Taiwan, China and Vietnam, Teh Chang Leather received the Asian Tannery Of The Year award in 2011. According to a company spokesperson, it has a well-established relationship with its customers and supplies a wide range of leather to shoemakers – including high-performance, water-resistant and casual-type varieties. Some 80-90 per cent of Teh Chang Leather’s production is reportedly supplied to international markets, and it is also being marketed to China’s top retailers and the country’s domestic manufacturers.
