Machine sewn and Veldtschoen soles
The stitching of soles onto uppers is one of the oldest ways of attaching outsoles in footwear production.
The title ‘Veldtschoen’ (also known as ‘veldt’, ‘stitchdown’ or ‘fIanged’ lasting) derives from the Dutch term for ‘field shoe’. Veldtschoen construction is commonly used for children’s footwear and men’s casuals, and produces a very light and flexible product which meets demands for increased comfort.
