Reviewing footwear wear returns caused by sole bond failures and considering how the failure can be analysed to identify the cause.
Bond failure might appear to be a simple quality issue. It may give the footwear a poor appearance which, in itself could be a justified reason for the wearer to complain, or affect the function of the shoe – such as by increasing the risk of the shoe letting in water. However, sole bond failures, no matter how minor they might seem, are also a potential safety hazard.
