Avoiding heel slip in footwear
Investigating how a wearer’s heels slipping out of his or her shoes during wear can result in irritation or even injury.
Why is heel slip a problem? Because if it occurs, the wearer may experience discomfort, blistering of the skin, hose (socks) being pulled down, excessive wear to the lining of the footwear, or a combination of these. The wearing of shoes that slip over the long term can affect the wearer’s posture and gait and even may cause permanent foot deformation – especially to children.
