Evaluating trim attachment strength
If poorly attached, a trim can cause major problems, as this article highlights.
The loss of a minor component in a complex trim, such as a small sequin in a large array, may go unnoticed. However, this would not be the case if a bow became detached from the upper, as this situation would be obvious and would likely prompt a demand for a replacement pair. More seriously still, an inadequately attached trim on an infant’s shoe presents a choking hazard – something that has caused a number of safety recalls in the USA, Europe, Australia and elsewhere.
