Assessing seams and seam holding

There are various different types of seams used in footwear manufacturing, all of which should be tested.

A seam failure will normally mean the end of life for the footwear and the need for its disposal. It can also be highly dissatisfying for the customer, whether or not it happens at an inconvenient time. Safety is also a concern, especially with seams for solings and functional straps.
