The fifth of this series of articles investigating cutting room operations explores processes typically used to cut non-leather materials.
There is an increasing amount of footwear produced with a synthetic or textile upper, especially in the sports footwear sector. These types of non-leather materials require a different approach to cutting, and some constructions may even remove the task of cutting altogether.
