Motorised Furniture and the UKCA Mark
Wednesday 22nd September 2021
YOU ARE VIEWING AN EVENT THAT HAS ALREADY TAKEN PLACE
10:00 and 16:00 BST
Motorised furniture is becoming much more prevalent in the market, with electric reclining chairs, rise/recliners, height adjustable tables and work tops, as well as motorised door openers, all widely sold.
Due to the additional safety hazards posed by such products, items of motorised furniture are classified as machines, and need to meet machinery regulations.
As the UK transitions away from Europe, there is now a requirement that all new products placed on the market after the 31st December 2022 has to carry the UKCA mark, rather than the CE mark required for the rest of Europe.
SATRA’s Phil Reynolds will guide you through the technical requirements and standards for motorised furniture as well as outlining the differences between the UKCA marking and CE marking processes.
