SAFT Vietnam 2023

SATRA will be holding three modules of the SAFT (SATRA Accredited Footwear Technologist) training course in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from Monday 3rd to Friday 7th July 2023. 

The full SATRA SAFT training course is the most comprehensive and up-to-date of its kind and can lead to an internationally recognised qualification within the footwear industry.  In a global and competitive marketplace, knowledge and skills are increasingly important. SATRA has designed this member-only training course for all technologists involved in any aspect of footwear production.

The three modules that will be delivered in Vietnam are:

Module 2: Materials  This two-day module looks at the key materials and components used in footwear. It includes leather, synthetic materials and textiles for uppers and linings. It also explains the characteristics of a wide range of soling materials, adhesives used for attachment and other components used in footwear construction.

Module 3: Testing  This two-day module starts with a discussion on 'what is testing?' and 'why is testing important?' It also examines specifications. An overview of key physical tests carried out on footwear and materials will be given. Also the importance of testing for restricted substances will be discussed.

Module 8: Laboratory management  This one-day module is a new addition in 2023 and will be delivered for the first time in Vietnam. It will look at managing a physical testing laboratory starting with the importance of creating and following a quality system in order to ensure accurate test results. Delegates will 'build' their own management system during the day.

Each module is led by a SATRA specialist and covered in detail over the training period, which includes comprehensive documentation to support the lecture and practical sessions. The modules will be delivered in English.
