The SAFT (SATRA Accredited Footwear Technologist) award is an internationally recognised
qualification, and is clear evidence that you are a footwear technologist with a proven range of knowledge. The full SAFT course provides up-to-date information in nine modules covering key areas of footwear manufacture.
This Spring we will be delivering all nine modules, including the new Sports footwear module and the new one day Laboratory management module, detailed in the syllabus available below. Each module is led by SATRA specialists and covered in detail during two days’ intensive training including comprehensive documentation (note that Module 8 Laboratory management is a one day module).
Module 6 is the only module that is open to non-members.
SATRA will be holding the SATRA Accredited Footwear Technologist (SAFT) training course between 24th March and 15th April 2025, at SATRA House in Kettering, UK.

Module 1: Lasts, fitting & comfort 26th & 27th March
Module 2: Materials 28th & 31st March
Module 3: Testing 1st & 2nd April
Module 4: Constructions & product design 3rd & 4th April
Module 5: Risk assessment & quality assurance 7th & 8th April
Module 6: Industrial footwear 11th & 14th April
Module 7: Production efficiency & lean manufacturing 9th & 10th April
Module 8: Laboratory management 15th April
Module 9: Sports footwear 24th & 25th March
SAFT course fees are inclusive of lunch and refreshments, and are quoted in British Pounds. All prices shown are excluding VAT.
There is a variable cost per module with discounts, per booking application depending on how many modules are booked:
1 or 2 modules: GBP 995 per module
(except Module 8 – GBP 500, and Module 6 for non-members GBP1200)
3 or 4 modules: – 2.5% discount
5 or 6 modules: – 5% discount
7 or more modules: – 7.5% discount
