The SAFT (SATRA Accredited Footwear Technologist) award is an internationally recognised qualification, and is clear evidence that you are a footwear technologist with a proven range of knowledge. The full SAFT course covers up-to date information in nine modules covering key areas of footwear manufacture.
For our US based course during the fall of 2025, we will be covering eight of those modules, including the brand new Sports Footwear module launched this year. Each module is led by a SATRA specialist and covered in detail during two days’ intensive training including comprehensive documentation. Note that Module 6 Lite (USA and Canada) is a one day module, bespoke for the US and Canadian industrial footwear market and is the only SAFT module available to non-members of SATRA.
This course is being scheduled from 29th September to the 17th October 2025.
Please carefully check the dates in the syllabus available below if not attending all the modules, as they are not being delivered sequentially.
The course will be held in the Crowne Plaza, Portland-Lake Oswego, Oregon.
Module 1: Lasts, fitting & comfort 29th & 30th September.
Module 2: Materials 7th & 8th October
Module 3: Testing 9th & 10th October
Module 4: Constructions & product design 1st & 2nd October
Module 5: Risk assessment & quality assurance 13th & 14th October
Module 6 Lite: Industrial footwear (USA & Canada) 17th October
Module 7: Production efficiency & lean manufacturing 15th & 16th October
Module 9 - Sports Footwear 3rd & 6th October
SAFT course fees are inclusive of lunch and refreshments, and are quoted in British Pounds. All prices shown are excluding VAT (where it is applicable).
There is a variable cost per module with discounts, per booking application, depending on how many modules are booked:
1 or 2 modules: GBP 1,200 per module (Except for module 6 which is GBP 850 for members and GBP 1200 for non-members)
3 or 4 modules: 2.5% discount
5 to 6 modules: 5% discount
7 to 8 modules: 7.5% discount
