SATRA’s Introduction to footwear sustainability course is aimed at anyone working for a brand, sourcing company, retailer, or manufacturer within the footwear supply chain who needs to understand the key sustainability challenges facing the industry and how to tackle them.
This wide-ranging course provides an insight into:
- - What sustainability is, and why it is important
- - Understanding supply chains
- - What an organisational carbon footprint is, and how it is calculated
- - What a product lifecycle assessment/carbon footprint is, how to carry out a study and where the data comes from
- - Understanding and reducing environmental impacts throughout the product lifecycle
- - A detailed review of the environmental considerations of leather and other bio-based materials
- - Current obligations under sustainability-related legislation, and what is coming
- - An introduction to restricted substances management
- - Testing and verifying the sustainability credentials of a product
